I’m SO EXCITED to offer a one day workshop painting in my beautiful town of Barrington, Rhode Island on Saturday, June 13th. The fields and groves of trees near my home at St. Andrew’s Fields have offered endless inspiration to me in my painting practice over the years, and I’m very excited to share them with you!

I will begin the day with discussion about my process, as well as a painting demo. Then there will be time for you to sketch and paint and receive feedback. We will take a break for lunch midday. You can venture into town or enjoy a picnic lunch. We can eat as a group, as well, if people would like to take the time to talk art over lunch.

We will reconvene for the afternoon session, possibly at one of our local quiet beaches. I will do another demo and answer questions. Then you will again have the afternoon for painting and receiving feedback. We will plan to end the workshop at 5:00pm, but I often stay to paint a little longer. You are welcome to stay and paint together or you can pack up and head home or out to eat!

I hope you will join me for a wonderful day of painting and learning!

This workshop is geared toward anyone from the seasoned beginner to professional artists. My approach is very simple and is focused on basic principles rather than a lot of technical gymnastics, so all skill levels can gain something from the workshop.

If you cancel your registration before April 1st I can refund you the full cost of the workshop. After April 1st I will not be able to offer a refund unless I am able to fill your spot. I need to be sure I have time to fill the spots before the workshop! Thank you for your understanding!

Local Attractions:

If you are coming to the workshop from out of town, please note that this is a beautiful part of New England, nestled along the Narragansett Bay. Barrington is a quiet little town only 15 minutes south of Providence, and en route to Newport. If you follow the main roads south from Barrington you will pass some of the quaintest Rhode Island towns, such as Bristol, where you can find a vibrant main street shopping area with historic buildings and beautiful views of sailboats in the bay. Keep going south and you’ll cross the Mount Hope Bridge onto Aquidneck Island, which terminates with the picturesque city of Newport! So, if you want to make a long weekend trip that coincides with the workshop, I’d say you are making a very good investment of your time!
